Together for all children: donation Food Bank Children’s Foundation
KinderRijk, Zonova Childcare & Education and Groep Maatschappelijke Kinderopvang (Social Childcare Group) are working together to support children growing up in families that can use a helping hand. The three organisations formalised their collaboration in a manifesto in 2024. They are committed to share their time, knowledge, and resources for children and families who can benefit from some extra help.
After the free SKAI Children’s Festival, where hundreds of children enjoyed sports and games, the organisations made a joint contribution of € 12.000 to support the Food Bank Children’s Foundation this year. The foundation runs a website that allows children to choose new clothes and shoes twice a year. This helps them feel good about themselves and boosts their self-confidence.
Last Thursday, the cheque was presented to Maurice van der Ven, director of the Food Bank Children’s Foundation, followed by a tour of the foundation’s warehouse. It was great to see the intended purpose of the contribution.
In the Netherlands, many children grow up in circumstances where resources are limited. Not all children have the opportunity to celebrate birthdays, wear warm coats or comfortable shoes. These circumstances have impact on their emotional well-being and development.
KinderRijk, Zonova, and Groep Maatschappelijke Kinderopvang show that the contribution can provide for a different approach: by working together and looking beyond their own boundaries, they help create an environment where every child feels seen and supported. This allows every child to develop into the best version of themselves.
