Our Nicolaas Tulplaan childcare centre is a pleasant childcare location with a nice atmosphere in the Groenelaan district, near Zonnehuis and Ziekenhuis Amstelland. The location’s interior and colours are harmonious and the rooms are outfitted in a welcoming and comfortable way. We have four groups connected by a beautiful nature garden where the children can have plenty of fun and can go to play and explore.
We encourage play and discovery every day based on the daily programme. This may be an activity in our workshop where the children themselves discover what they can do with different materials. Or a music, dance, an exercise or children’s yoga activity in the large, spacious central hall, where there is also sufficient peace and quiet to read a book to them.

What does a day look like with us?
Babies follow a daily schedule according to their own needs

Between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m., we welcome your child and discuss how your child is doing. 09.30
After you have said goodbye to each other, we will start at the table. We sing songs, talk to children about what they are up to and discuss what we are going to do that day. We also have something small to eat and drink. 10.30
There is room for free play and activities aimed at the child’s development. This can be either inside the group or central hall or outside in the garden. 11.30
Lunchtime! We will have lunch together with the children. This is either a cold lunch or a hot lunch. The older children help set and clear the table. 13.00
The younger children take an afternoon nap and the older children take a rest in the group. Have the older children taken a rest? Then they go off to play freely. 15.00
When most children are awake, it is time to eat and drink something. After this, the children can participate in an activity focused on the child’s development or play freely. 16.00
From 4 p.m. you can pick up your child again and it’s time for the handover with the educational staff member and to go through the day. The educational staff member will particularly go into your child’s growth during the day. Practical information
Settling in at day care
During the settling-in period, we take the time to get to know your child and you, and to let you get used to the new situation. Settling in an individual process suited to the developmental stage of children and to the specific needs and habits of the children and the parents.

My name is Ilse Kroon and I am the location manager at day care Nicolaas Tulplaan. While studying educational science, I almost immediately lost my heart in childcare. With ongoing great pleasure, I try to contribute to the children’s development and enrich their world in my current position.”
